Welcome to Art with Ms. Nell Nicoloro
With snow on the ground, I am eager for spring to come. Students are finishing up all sorts of projects and some are moving onto warm weather themes. Kindergarten is working on ladybugs and birdhouses. First grade is finishing cherry blossoms and will be working on trees and hydrangeas. Second grade is weaving away on circle looms. Third grade is starting rainy day pictures. Finally, fourth grade is working on Japanese Notan designs.
Our Willett winter art is in the process of being moved to the display boards around the school. If you didn't get a chance to see it during the Winter Concert and Art Show, please take a look while visiting the building. Students in all grades are currently working on weaving, exploring cultures, and other ways of incorporating weaving into art.
In Preparation for our Winter Concert and Art Show, students are moving from fall based projects right into Winter. I am so excited to be able to display work from all of our Willett artists!!!
Happy Fall!!! Students are beginning to finish with their name projects. Soon you will see those up around the building or being sent home. Next, we will be moving on to Fall themed projects that incorporate a variety of art concepts.
In the art room, we are moving on to our first bigger project based on our names. Students in prior years have loved using their names to create bold, colorful designs.
Welcome to a fun new school year!!! We are getting off to a great start with our first projects in honor of International Dot Day. All students are celebrating Creativity, Courage, and Collaboration by creating their own unique dot design that will be part of larger displays.
